At Southport we sail a variety of classes in open handicap racing. We find this is good as it means we aren’t forced into certain fleets and members can buy and race the boats they want to sail rather than what they are forced to sail. It also means that we have most of the major classes in our club and any that we don’t we will probably have something similar. This means new members can talk to someone else with a similar boat to them and get tips or help from them.
